They're coming!

Prince William, his wife Catherine,  Duchess of Cambridge,  and their young son Prince George will visit Australia and New Zealand in April 2014.

The official  statement says it is anticipated that Prince George will accompany his parents on the tour.

It will be the future king's first overseas trip.

It will also be the first time that the Duchess, Kate Middleton, has been to either Australia or New Zealand.

The family was invited to visit by the Australian and New Zealand governments.

Prince William last visited Australia in March 2011 to visit flood-damaged areas of Queensland and Victoria.

The ABC says that the visit is likely to hold sentimental value for Prince William and many Royal watchers.

The young prince will be nine months old in April - the same age as Prince William when he first came to Australia with his parents Prince Charles and Diana in March/April, 1983.

At the time, it was seen as a huge break with tradition for Diana to bring her son with her on an overseas tour.

Prince William spent much of his time on that Australian trip at a remote New South Wales farm.

The official itinerary for the upcoming tour is yet to be revealed.
